How private, unrestricted AI chat works in Souna AI: 5 free chats a day, personas with nothing hidden, image actions in chat, and history you can delete.
22 Oct 2026 · 5 min read · Souna AIMost AI chat apps make two choices for you. They decide what the model may talk about, through instructions you never see. And they decide what happens to your conversations, often in a policy you never read. Souna AI chat is built the other way round: you can read every instruction the model gets, and your conversations are never published, sold or used to train AI.
This guide covers how it works: the free daily chats, personas, the "+" menu that turns a conversation into a small studio, and what happens to your chat history.
Free chats every day
Every signed-in account gets 5 free chats a day, with or without a plan. The day resets at 00:00 UTC (07:00 WIB). A reply that never arrives is not charged and does not count toward the day.
Paid plans get more. While the current Unlimited promotion runs, any paid plan can chat up to 300 times a day on the unlimited chat models under fair use; the promotion is not part of a plan and may change or end at any time. Other chat models, and chat with web search switched on, use credits, priced per reply by the length of the conversation.
Personas: nothing hidden
A persona is the set of instructions the model reads before your message. Many apps call this a system prompt and keep it secret. In Souna you choose it at the top of the chat, and you can see what it says:
- Souna (the default): Souna's own persona, for straight answers to anything, uncensored within the law. Its instructions are shown in full.
- No persona: no instructions at all. The only words the model receives are yours.
- Writer: hooks, ad scripts, captions and content ideas.
- Story: fiction and roleplay, with you setting the direction.
- Translate: natural translation into 8 languages.
- + Your own persona: a name and instructions you write yourself.
A conversation keeps the persona it started with. To use another, open a new chat.
Unrestricted, within the law
Souna itself runs no filter on your prompts and adds no lectures. Dark fiction, blunt feedback and plain answers on hard subjects are normal requests. Each model still has its own content rules and may decline. A refusal that comes back as an error costs nothing; a reply in which the model declines counts like any reply, so switch model. The Terms still apply, and accounts are for adults (18+). The longer version is in Unrestricted AI, explained.
Choosing a model
The Model chip at the top right picks the model. Auto, the default, chooses one for each message from the free chat models: a stronger model for code, maths and analysis, and the uncensored model for everything else. Each reply shows which model answered. You can also pick any chat model in the list yourself; the conversation remembers it. Every model, with its price, is on the models page.
The "+" menu: images inside the conversation
Chat answers in text, but the "+" button next to the message box adds images and actions. The results land in the conversation itself, and stay there when you come back.

| Style reference | A new image in the style of the images you attach (up to 1 on Solo, 5 on Studio, 9 on Director, or fewer if the model takes fewer). |
The actions other than reading an image are paid in credits, and the menu shows the price before anything runs. When you ask chat for a picture or a clip, a Create this image or Create this video button under the reply opens the right tool with your request filled in.
What happens to your chats
- Kept in your account. Every conversation is saved in your account, so you can open it on another device.
- Deletable. You can delete any conversation at any time, and deleting your account removes your chat history with it.
- Never published, sold or used to train AI.
- Kept for safety too. Separately from your history, prompts and chat text are kept on Souna's servers to keep Souna safe and lawful. The privacy policy says exactly what is kept and for how long.
We say this plainly because many "private" chat apps blur it. Your conversations are not secret from the service that runs them; they are kept for a stated purpose and never turned into a product.
Getting started
- Create an account (18+).
- Open Chat in the left rail.
- Pick a persona, or No persona if you want the model to hear only you.
- Write your first message. For a long project, give context up front: who you are, what you are making, the tone you want.

Is the chat really free?
Yes, up to 5 chats a day on the free chat models, for every signed-in account. Past that, a plan opens more.
Does Souna add a hidden system prompt?
No. The default Souna persona is shown in full, and No persona sends no instructions at all.
Can chat make images?
